At Mt. Calvary Baptist Church,
we believe every generation matters. Our children's ministry creates a fun, safe place for kids to learn about Jesus through Bible lessons, music, and activities. Our youth group helps teens grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life with God's truth. For college students and young adults, we offer community and discipleship tailored to their season of life. And for adults, we provide Bible studies, small groups, and opportunities to connect, serve, and grow deeper in Christ. No matter your age, there's a place for you here to belong and be equipped.
we believe God's Word is for every season of life. Our Bible study classes meet weekly and are designed to help you grow in faith, no matter your age.
Our Senior Adult class offers a warm, fellowship-filled setting where longtime believers can dig deeper into Scripture, share wisdom, and encourage one another through life's later chapters.
Adult classes explore the Bible in practical, relevant ways — applying timeless truth to work, family, and the challenges of everyday life.
Youth and Children's classes make God's Word come alive through stories, songs, and hands-on activities, helping kids build a foundation of faith that lasts.
Whether you're new to the Bible or have studied it for decades, there's a place for you here. Join us and discover the joy of studying God's Word together.
We know that being in a college town is a great privilege... and a great opportunity. Banner Elk is home to Lees-McRae College. LMC is a small, private university with students from all over the world. And the much larger Appalachian State University is just 30 minutes away n Boone. We see college ministry are a way to reach the next generation and the world!
On Thursday nights, we prepare a hearty meal for the students, followed by worship and Bible study, where students can grow in their faith, build lasting friendships, and find a church family while they're away from home.
On a typical Thursday night, fifty to sixty students fill the room — a mix of believers and seekers, locals and international students.
The ministry also includes an "adopt a college student" program, where church families invite students into their homes for meals, study breaks, and encouragement throughout the semester.
Whether you're a student looking for community or a church member who wants to invest in the next generation, there's a place for you here.
