Planning a visit to Mount Calvary Baptist Church? We'd love to welcome you! We're located in the heart of Banner Elk, North Carolina, surrounded by the beauty of the High Country. Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 11:00 AM. Come as you are — casual or dressy, everyone is welcome. We offer children's church during the service, and we'd love to meet you afterward. Feel free to park in our main lot, and our friendly greeters will help you find your way. We can't wait to worship with you!
What to Expect
How long are services?
Sunday morning begins with Sunday School at 9:45am, followed by the main worship service at 11:00am, which typically runs about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. A prayer meeting gathers on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm
What should I wear?
Dress is casual — we're a mountain church, so you'll see everything from jeans to nice slacks. No one wears a suit or tie, and you're welcome just as you are. Comfortable shoes are a good idea too.
Are children welcome?
Children are warmly welcome here. We have Sunday School classes for kids and youth, and a children's church program runs during the morning service so parents can worship while the little ones learn at their own level.
What are services like?
Traditional Baptist worship — gospel hymns, a reverent atmosphere, and expositional preaching that walks verse by verse through Scripture. The sermon usually takes up at least half the service, and the focus is on hearing God's Word rather than entertainment.
